hi,
I've been staying in singapore for 3 years, i want to ask bout agent fee. im a tenant here.
Should i pay for agent fee every year even it just for extend? i dont understand coz only in singapore tenant have to pay agent fee. in other country, only owner pay agent fee.

Sometimes agent (broker) for tenant, they dont do anything at all, just pop up every year to ask for fee. Even if all the agreement and everything already take care by owner's agent.
for my opinion, if we ask them to find us apt. then we can pay, but if not, what the use?

Afternoon Dede,

As for the commission payable on rental renewable, it's to be discussed prior to inking of TA. As for the commission payable, Singapore have one of the lowest commission payable rate, compared to the rest of the world, with US agent charging at more than 5% of sales price.
I believe your frustration comes from the point that no proper communication was done, prior to signing of the TA.

FYI.
