If I have successfully decoupled and transferred all my shares of my private property to my husband, can I apply my BTO from HDB solely and immediately, without the 3 years waiting period?

Hi,

Nope you can’t and it don’t this way. For BTO or resale flat, you would still need your husband to purchase it with you under married status.

No, your husband will then be the private property owner which makes you ineligible to apply for the BTO. Your husband must be an essential occupier on the minimal when you purchase a HDB, regardless a resale or BTO, therefore he should also not be an owner of any private residential property.

Good morning Miss,

I am sorry to inform you that a private property owner has to observe a waiting period of 30 months before can apply for a BTO or new EC.

On top of that, you have to be eligible under HDB eligibility schemes to apply. Either first or second timer and have to apply with husband (cause you are married).

Care to share more information about your intention so I will be in a better position to suggest other proposals.

Hi Mdm,

I regret to inform you that you're not eligible to apply for a BTO as long as you and/or your Husband owns a private property. You are only eligible if you and/or your Husband dispose off the private property and wait out 30 months.

For resale HDB flat, if you're below age 55, it will be a 15-month wait out period. If both of you're above age 55, you will be able to purchase a HDB resale flat upon the sale of your private property.
