Hi, i would like to know if my spouse owned an overseas property, are we able to buy resale ec. Both of us are local and currently own a hdb property too but intended to upgrade and unsure about the regulation and fees. Thanks

Yes you can buy resale ec .

There will be a 12% savings as in savings of 12% ABSD , If you sell your hdb while you buy the resale EC .

Vise versa , you will have to pay extra ABSD of 12% if you intent to keep both your present hdb and the resale EC .

I would choose to save the ABSD , therefore forgo the rental Income in the case of keeping 2 property .

Retrictions on regards to owning overseas property only applies to new EC not resale ECs. Based on your profile, there is no problem for you in purchasing a resale EC.
