You can actually start looking about 1-2 months before your birthday because current market supplies are low and appropriate units to your requirements may not surface then. Hence, it's more prudent to start slightly earlier to slowly source for the one you like.
However, before you embark on the search, certain things need to be addressed first such as your financial status, area of interest, other preferences etc.
