Hi i have seller agent that demand me to settle the late compensation fee amounting to 10k due to delay in completion. This compensation is for seller and also seller's seller.

As a buyer, my cpf proceeds have been deducted. but only waiting for completion. Is this legal? i am not represented with agent. However, there is no contract of me known to this binding agrrement.
Please advise. Should i report to CEA or get a lawyer?

Hi,

If you have a strong case to back you, then you may make a complaint to the CEA as well as to seek legal advice.

Hi, ask them to go through the proper routes to get compensation, and if there is no issue on your end, and you are not in the wrong, you may bring it up to CEA.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

As a rule of thumb, the party who is causing the delay for the completion should be liable to compensate the other parties. If you are not the one causing the delay, then it is not reasonable to compensate.

Dear buyer,

I do not know exactly what has happened, but judging from your provision of details, it seems that you are delaying the completion due to funds issue which I am unsure if it is due to others or your oversight in the financial flow of the purchase.

Depending on extent of the delay, seller has rights to look at damages incurred due to this delay as they may also be relying on this funds from the sales completion to complete their own purchase.

Nevertheless, the implementation of such claims should go through the legal channels and the agent can perhaps be facilitating his or her seller to let u know on the intended claims. I'll suggest for you to engage a lawyer to discuss what your options are first before deciding if you should bring this matter to CEA. Read More
