Hi, I have applied for a BTO back in Aug 2020.
However, I am staying with my mom in a BTO that is 4 years into the MOP this year, 2021. Her BTO will MOP in Oct 2022.

My BTO expected completion date is 3Q 2023.

When my mom applied for BTO, she wanted to be nearer to my sister as my mom has stroke and needed someone to look after her. The HDB staff informed us not to put me as owner as it will complicate things when I am applying for BTO in the future and hence I was put as occupier but we were not informed of the term essential occupier.

The issue now is that, HDB came back to me stating that my application is under appeal because I have yet to reached my mom's BTO MOP period of Oct 2022.

Any idea? Already freaking out on the idea of forfeiting the flat

Hi,

Is your Mother Single/Divorced/Widowed? If yes, and the current BTO flat is a 3RM or bigger flat in a matured estate, then you will be needed as an essential occupier to purchase the current flat. This will also mean that you will be required to serve the 5-year MOP before being able to apply or purchase another HDB flat.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.
