Hi,
I exercised my otp in sep 2010 but completed the purchase in fen 2011. If I want to sell my condo, do I have to pay SSD based on the new rules that came into effect from Jan 2011?
Kindly advice.

Morning,

As per the ruling, it applies for those whose acquisition of private property after 14 Jan 2011. For resales, it means the offical completion. Hence I would say that you are affected by the 16% SSD.

Hi Potential Seller,

For purchase made between 30th Aug 2010 to 13th Jan 2011, you need not pay any SSD if you sell after 3 years (based on exercise date)

For the 1st year or less, 1% on first $180k, 2% on next $180k and 3% on remainder.

For more than 1 year and up to 2 years, 0.67% on first $180k, 1.33% on next $180k and 2% on remainder.

For more than 2 years and up to 3 years, 0.33% on first $180k, 0.67% on next $180k and 1% on remainder.

Hope the above information is of help to you. Do contact me if you need further assistance on your property.

Thanks & regards,
