Hi,
I currently own a 4-rm fully paid and have bought a condo at Dnest. I am thinking of selling my 4-rm hdb and take the lump sum to buy another pte condo at ard the same selling price of ard 450k. The second condo will be for rental. Any advise where can I get a studio or 1-bedder that can earn rental more than the 4-rm hdb after deducting expenses(ie condo monthly maintenance fees)?

Hi Mr. Lim,

To find a condo around the price of 450K in current market, the chances are slim. Actually, the rental yields for HDB units are usually good for buyers who bought many years back, I am not sure why are you looking to proceed to get another condo. Furthermore, it is fully paid. I would say you are in a comfortable position. Is there an issue with renting out the HDB? Perhaps I can assist further as I'm active in the east side?

Hi,

I am having the same plans as you but I would recommend for you to keep your HDB and rent out your HDB instead of getting a studio.

I am planning to buy a unit at Coco Palms after my MOP and staying in Coco Palms while renting out the HDB. As mentioned by Ivan, HDB rental yield will be better than Studio / 1BR.

And.. It will be challenging to get a Studio / 1BR at 450k.

Evening John,

Rental yield for studio may not be as attractive as your HDB unit. Do consider the necessary factors upon purchase of your second private property.
