Hi,
I am SC married to Non-SC, Non-SC has a property overseas since he lived there before coming to SG and I do not own any. We are looking to buy resale flat. Are we eligible to get the Single's grant?

As it is stated: All applicants and occupiers listed in the flat application:
Do not own other property locally or overseas, and have not disposed of any within the last 30 months

Hi,

1) You may buy a resale HDB flat under the Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.
https://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/residential/buying-a-flat/resale/financing/cpf-housing-grants/noncitizen-spouse-scheme

2) Buying with a grant is as good as applying for BTO. Thus there is this "Have not disposed of any within the last 30 months".

3) Due to this reason, you are not eligible for any grant since your spouse owns an overseas property.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

Best regards

Hi

Yes. You are right in a way that technically, you are not eligible for a grant. However, I have ever successfully appeal on behalf of one of my client for them to be able to enjoy first timer grant despite owning residential properties overseas. I am specialised in HDB transactions. Do contact me at 93375051  for a free and non obligatory discussion on this.
