Congrats on your Husband attaining his Citizenship!

Both of you can purchase a HDB resale flat, but will have to take a bank loan for it. You are not eligible for HDB loan, as he currently owns a private property. You will only be eligible for a HDB loan 30 months after he disposed the overseas property.

Hi,

1) Congratulation to your hubby on the new citizenship!
2) Upon receiving citizenship, both of you can now buy an HDB flat without incurring ABSD.
3) Unfortunately due to his overseas property, you are not able to apply for grants and HDB loans.
4) If you wished to enjoy the benefit on (3), he will have to wait out for 30 months after selling the overseas property.
5) This rule is also applicable to existing citizens and not particularly to new citizens.
6) If you intend to buy an HDB flat upon receiving his citizenship, you can only get a loan from a private bank.
