Hi. I am planning to purchase two unit in Marina Bay residences specifically the D1 2379 sqftm(221 unit and C1 1981 sqft (184 sqm) . My question is, under singapore law, am I allowed to combine the units to have a bigger unit. I'm sorry to ask, since I am not familiar with singapore law on condominium. I am from Philippines and will be having a corporate extension office in singapore soon. Please enlighten me. Thanks a lot.

Regarding your question, it really depends on the development. Some developments has this option of combining 2 adjoining units via a door entrance, so that both the units are linked.

Though my question is, it give me a better view facing marina bay. I am more particular with the view especially at night time. I want view to be better or the same with Mr. Roy Teo's condo unit. I believe he is from Krieit associates - interior design firm in sg. Thanks a lot guys

The option for merging two unit as one will be very dependent on the structural design of the project. Hence to obtain the required answers, it might be good to check with the developer or engage a professional for the assessment.

Hi Mr Orville, with regards to that question, we could always put up the request to the developer and await for their reply first before any deposit is being paid. And also, do note that for foreigner purchasing private unit in Singapore, stamp duty is payable at 18%. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

Hi Orville,
Usually it would depend on the structures of the building, however for MBR, it seems unlikely to merge 01 & 10 into 1 unit. You can engage a PE/QP to determine that. Any changes would require an approval and permit from BCA.

I have identical C1 and D1 for SALE.. Technically speaking, is possible to combine both together..You could combine both units together physically however if you intend to combine both under 1 title, I would not advise as combining both would have over 4200 sq ft based on current market quantum is too huge for anybody to buy in the event in future if you have intention to sell. If you purchased both units combined it and title remain separately , it will be much easier to sell in future..
