Hi, i am planning to buy a flat in the east and while looking at the ads, i see some indicated "can contra" Can i check what does that mean, under what circumstances can contra be used and when it cannot be used.

Morning Ms Tan,

it means buyer can sell their current flat and buy that flat at the same time.

This can only be done with buyer obtaining HDB loan for current flat and next flat purchase.

Cant be used with a current HDB loan and bank loan for next purchase or vice versa.

If you are not owning a flat at the moment, you dont have to pay note of the term "contra".
