Hi,

1) New EC is subject to HDB eligibility scheme.
2) You have to form a family nucleus or joint-single schemes to be eligible for it.
3) This is unlike private residential where you can buy under single name.

Good afternoon k,

You can purchase a brand new EC provided eligibility conditions met.
- either first or second timer
- income ceiling up to $16k
- form a family nucleus with your spouse etc.

If you wish to buy alone, it's not possible as you dont have a family nucleus. Maybe we can consider a private segment? You will be able to use all your CPF OA funds towards the purchase as you never use a single cent of CPF oa funds as essential occupier in your resale flat.

The answer to the first question is no. You have to form a family nucleus. The answer to the 2nd question is that you will have to pay the 1st 5% in cash and then you may use your CPF for your balance downpayment.

Hi,

Yes, you will be able to apply for a brand new EC if you meet all the eligibility conditions.

You are also able to utilise your CPF as part of the downpayment. Do take note that 5% cash is still mandatory.

Do take note that your spouse will be needed either as a co-owner or an essential occupier for the EC. This means that he/she will have to dispose off the current HDB flat latest within 6 months upon the TOP of the EC.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

Yes it is possible to purchase a brand new EC once you have satisfy the Minimum Occupation Period and CPF is possible to be used towards the down payment of the property.

However, you must first find out whether you are eligible to buy an EC because you will need to satisfy the family nucleus as well as the income requirement. The loan assessment to purchase an EC is also much more stringent as compared to a private condo and therefore it will be ideal to work out the sums first to ensure that you are able to afford it comfortably.
