Hi, I am a Singapore PR and am thinking about converting to Singapore citizen.

My plan is to own 2 properties in Singapore by 2018 (HDB first, and then a Condo).

Could someone give me some suggestions on how to plan for this?

Afternoon,

It would be good to get your SC before you start buying any property in SG. This will help you save up on the 5% ABSD. Upon getting your citizenship, you can apply for HDB unit. Work on your finance so that you can complete servicing your mortgage loan by the time you attain MOP. With that, you can purchase your second property without the requirement to sell away your HDB unit. Since you would have cleared your mortgage loan by then, you will be eligible to attain 80% loan. The downside is that you are required to set aside the CPF minimum sum and pay 7% ABSD for your second purchase.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.
