Hi I am a HDB flat owner looking to buy a private property. My MOP is Dec 2013. I intend to sell my flat but as the HDB market is slowing down, a situation may arise where I am unable to sell my flat but may have already found a private property. If I buy the private property first before selling my flat, must I still pay ABSD?

Hi Mr Tan

Yes, in your case you will have to pay the ABSD first when you bought a private property. And you would be able to get a refund from IRAS if you manage to sell your HDB unit within 6 months.
