Hi Gurus, Recently I am interested in a unit and the seller agent told me that it is a special requirement from the seller that I have to remove the existing items from the unit if I am keen to purchase the unit.

May I ask how much does it cost to remove such items like TV, fridge, queen size bed, cupboards and sofa etc.

Good morning buyer,

Do you meant that seller is selling vacant possession with furnitures?

Actually you can engage movers or ask your renovation company to dispose the items for you. Alternatively there might be non profit organisations that are able to take in these items and pass on to less fortunate or low income family.

If the unit is a HDB, you might be able to engage the town council for a nominal fee as well.

Hope my explanation helps!

May I know how can I value add further in your property purchase?

Hi,

Hereby assume you are buying with fittings (furniture, paintings etc). Seller is passing the cost over to you, so do hope you did negotiate a good price.

Do note that it is not only the cost, there are additional arrangement required to remove bulky items.

If this is HDB unit you are buying, you may contact town council to remove 3 items FOC within a month. Any additional items will be charge with a norminal fee (~$40/item).

Otherwise, you may donate or contact recycle company for the disposal.
