In normal circumstances, the buyer will sign the acceptance after the LO is out. Otherwise, it is usually within 14 days from the date of the LO, which is indicated on it.

Evening Mr. Chee,

As buyer, you will need to work with your seller on your intended offer, before getting the Option. With the Option, you will then approach bank with the valuation report to obtain your Letter of Offer. You have only 21 days from day of option issued, to get your Letter of Offer, along with the valuation report.

Hi Mr Chee, after you have gotten the letter of Offer from bank, I would safely say you have more than 1 week to accept the offer. Having said that, it would meant that you have ample time to consider and so it is not so much on the acceptance of offer but rather which bank to go for. Usually at this stage, I would ask my buyer to shop around and to find out which bank offers an attractive rate, so that when the time comes to make a purchase, you would have already decided on a particular bank.

Good afternoon Chee,

Normally you will exercise after you have make sure you have sufficient cash ($4000) and letter of offer to accept the offer.

The procedure of a resale HDB purchase:

1) House searching
2) Agreed on purchase price, obtain OTP and apply for valuation
3) Exercise OTP with valid LO
4) 1st and 2nd appt.
