Hi,

Currently we have a 4-room HDB under my wife and my name. my single mother in law is a PR. we will like to help her buy a 3-room HDB near us. is it possible? how does it go about making it possible?

Hi Chua,

Its not possible as a Single PR is not eligible to purchase a resale HDB flat by herself as she does not fit into the single singaporean scheme. Unless she is able to convert to a Singaporean soon, if not impossible to purchase one.

Evening Chua,

It's totally impossible for your mother-in-law, who is PR, to purchase resale HDB unit by her own. Being married, HDB deem both of you as one entity. Like what YY have said, you can only wait till your mother-in-law become SC.
