If you are looking at BTO or SOBF, you will need to apply for it and secured the unit before you can opt to sell your current HDB unit.

Hi,

I assume your current place is a hdb. If you have met MOP, you are eligible to apply BTO now, and can sell your current hdb later. Typically that's what similar households do. Thanks and hope to have more info so to make better recommendations.

You can opt for BTO or sale of balance flats. Sell your unit when you are about to get keys for the new flat and opt for contra so the sales proceeds will be used to finance the new flat so you wont have to take up any loan if you have sufficient finances to cover.
