Hi, can I check is it legal for the seller to raise the asking price way above the initial advertised price after the offer is made?? Seller did not convey the intention to raise until he received news of my offer. He did not accept nor reject my offer yet. We are willing to pay the initial asking price.

Afternoon,

A transaction would not take place without coming into agreement and consent of terms and condition. There's no ruling stating that the seller cannot increase the asking price, as long as the OTP is not signed. This would only goes to show that the seller might not be serious in selling and hoping to fish for better offers or trying to test the market as there's no salesperson assisting the seller, with the correct and necessary advice.
My advise is more on, and who knows, you might get something better.

All the best
