Hi,

Getting a resale near your parents would bring about a lot of convenience in terms of family bonding and also childcare arrangements are easier. Financially, the proximity housing grants announced are also very beneficial. BTO will take about 3 to 4 years to complete and is that ok with your timeline?

May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Warm Regards,

Ivan was the first agent that we met up with and right from the offset we had good vibes as he has a friendly personal approach, detailed working style and focuses on building the long-term relationship.

Our unit comes with its challenges but Ivan remained positive and had no qualms committing to our plans right from the start. It took only 6 weeks of aggressive marketing for him to secure a good offer which was a pleasant surprise in the end.

Ivan was always responsive and we had no worries to pass him the house keys. The whole process was transparent and hassle free, and he was always thinking from our point of view on how to make life easier for the client. He is a committed professional and has fast execution, so we felt assured that things are done well and we can entrust the sale process entirely to him.

--- HDB Flat Upgraders Mr. & Mrs. Lee ---

We decided to engage Ivan as our agent as we were impressed with how he answered the enquiries on property guru website.

He has helped us to find our ideal unit and also sold our current unit. He was very patient and never pushy when we were looking for our ideal unit. He would tell us that it is always important to find a unit that we really liked.

When it comes to selling of our unit, he was always prompt in arranging for viewings and he also tried his best to arrange and consolidate the viewings due to our time constraints. He is a reliable and prompt agent and is always willing to clarify any concerns and questions that we have.

Thanks Ivan! :)

He is hardworking and committed to his work. He puts in great efforts in arranging clients for viewings and kept us updated thereafter. He is ever ready to help and guide us whenever the need arises.

He provided us with sound and useful advice as well as closely follow through from the start till the smooth sale of the property within a short period of time.

Thanks, Ivan. Keep up the good work! Read More

Hi

Moving out from your parents home within close proximity is an option to still be connected with the family. I have a unit in Bukit Batok, would you be interested?

Did you say that its a waste of space in the big house? If you can write to gavin.ng@orangetee.com I may have alternative solutions for you.

Regards.

Good morning,

Your parents might be staying around Blk 6xx or 5xx which are both near to MRT station. If you are looking at staying near your parents but have limited budget, there are new BTO units nearer to Princess Elizabeth Primary School. But if that is not ideal, resale unit would be your best option. You can either purchase a bigger unit so that your parents can move in with you while you rent out their unit for their monthly allowance or get a smaller unit near them for personal use.

Do feel free to contact me for detail discussion.

Hi,

相见容易相处难
There is a Chinese proverb describe your foresee situation, it is easy to when you see each other from time to time, but difficult to live together.
This is especially describing relationship between in-laws and newly wedd couple.

To stay as close to each other is better in your situation, but not in the same house.
One house only should has one lady in charge.

Both of you should do your best to come back for dinner everyday, but do not need to stay over night since your home is minutes away.
You maintain good relationship and yet can take care of your parents needs.

Your parents will not feel lonely once you bear them a grand child to take care off later.

Staying near parents is definitely a good option, however, if you have child bearing plans moving forward, you may also like to plan in terms of which school you'd like your child to be enrolled in and this is speaking from my own personal experience which was not considered when I planned for my first and 2nd home.

There are a number of options on the cards:
1) Sell parents EA to monetise the value and look into purchasing a smaller unit side by side with you (maybe a jumbo unit?) since you have mentioned that your parents may feel lonely in a big house?
2) Apply for Multigen BTO unit so everyone can stay under 1 roof?
3) Purchase a dual key unit where the existing EA your parents have can be rented out for residual income?

Just too many to list down. Ultimately, I believe it also boils down to proper financial planning before listing out the different options. It could be beneficial for you to speak to a banker on your loan matters, the affordability and all before you even make a decision.

Hi ,

With regard to your enquiry, I totally agree with you that buying a BTO for you may not be a good option why?

1. You are the only son, so yr parent will need yr help eventually and it will be pose inconvenience to you

2. When you hv yr extended family and need yr parents help in looking after the kids, parent wull come very handy if they are staying nearby you isnt it?

3. Our government has just announced that for those who want to stay near their parents they are gicing extra proximity grant

4. Being the first timer. You are eligible to the first time grant too

5. Together with the first time grant and proximity grant , you have a windfall, so why dont maximise it buy buying a resale flat near yr parent.

For more details and further discussion, feel free to contact me.

Thanks

Hi,

Congratulations on your impending marriage!

As a first-timer, you can explore several options. As the only son, it will be your responsibility to take care of your aged parents in the years to come.

Depending on whether you will be staying with them, you can explore the following options:

1) Purchase a resale HDB nearby, and claim Proximity Grant.
2) Go for an EC that's in the West.
3) Stay with parents, go for private condo and rent it out.Give some of the monthly rental to your parents for their retirement.

Ultimately, there is no right an wrong. It depends on which will suit your situation best.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dear friend,

Unlike you, I am not the only child. But I stay in Central/West while my parents are at the East side.

Being an agent, means that I am more flexible in timing, compared to my siblings.

Whenever my folks have urgent needs/emergencies/etc during office hour, I am almost always the one to get to them.

Even though i drive, time is still wasted travelling to them.

I can share with you the pros and cons, the various options you have, etc.

Do get in touch with me.
