Hello,

Would be great if someone can help me. I am a Singaporean currently living overseas but relocating back to Singapore with husband (who is foreigner). We want to get a condo but I just found out a foreigner has to pay ABSD of 10%.But if he has a SG spouse, can this ABSD be waived?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi Fellow Singaporean,

As per what Mike has mentioned, you will be subject to ABSD on top of the usual buyer's stamp duty, you can apply for remission of ABSD from IRAS subject to approval.

Which nationality is your spouse? Cause some countries signed a treaty with Singapore stating that their residents (eg. USA - if i am not wrong) wont be subject to ABSD.

If you are keen, you can contact IRAS directly or i contact on your behalf and keep you in the loop.
