Hello,
I would like to seek some suggestions.
I am a SPR for over 10 years. I was looking to get a resale HDB together with my mother (also long term SPR) under two PRs-buying-resale scheme.
I was applying for the letter or intent/flat eligibility requirements and found out that I am actually not eligible for the scheme.
Because I recently got married and my wife is not PR yet. HDB is saying I have to put my wife as one of the occupiers and she has to be a PR for at least 3 years.
I've checked with HDB more about this and they replied to me this
"To buy a resale flat on the open market under the Public Scheme, the minimum citizenship requirement is at least two Singapore Permanent Residents (SPRs), forming an eligible family nucleus. In addition, SPR households will have to wait 3 years from the date of obtaining SPR status before they can buy a resale flat. The household would refer to all applicants and essential occupiers (occupier-spouse). The date of obtaining SPR status is the issue date of the blue identity card or the date on the Entry Permit, whichever is earlier.
Thus, in your case, your spouse must obtained the SPR status and will have to wait 3 years before you will be eligible to buy a resale flat together."
So, in such case, what are my options ? Should I try appealing to HDB ? If so, how should I do that?
I am not willing to go for private property as they are substantially more expensive.
(I am also in the midst of waiting for my citizenship application
