Hello! I have already gotten a BTO under Singles Scheme. If I get married in the future and do not list my future spouse as co-owner, will my spouse be able to buy private property in Singapore or outside Singapore after the marriage? Thanks!

Good morning Sir/ Mdm,

Usually HDB will require spouse to be included into the flat especially during MOP.

You can check with HDB directly to double confirm.

Hi,

1) It is under the HDB policy that you should at least include your spouse as co-occupier if not the owner.
2) If your spouse is added before key collection or during MOP. She has to observe the same MOP as you before she is allowed to purchase any private residential property.
3) If your spouse is added after MOP, then she is allowed to purchase any private residential property.

That will depend on when you get your flat, and when you get married. If you get married after you had gotten the flat and served the 5-year MOP, then your then-spouse will be able to purchase a private property under her sole name.
