Hello. I am a condo owner . When tenant moved out my time was not available to go there. The agents and the tenant did the handover. Later the agent told me everything was fine. But the next day when I checked the flat I found one door was damaged , the ventilator was not working, the floor was damaged and the curtains were very dirty. What should I do next? Many thanks

Afternoon Ms. Lily,

Did your agent did a proper handing and taking over, prior starting of TA and after the TA ends? I would normally take photos of the unit and keep it as possible evidence on condition of unit. You can obtain the necessary data from there. Otherwise, it would also be tough to sustain your case.

Dear Ms Lily,

Have you returned the security deposit to the tenant? If it has not been returned since most tenancy agreement should have indicated that security deposit should be returned within 14 days upon the expiration of tenancy, you may wish to get the salesperson return to the unit with you and go through these damages. Returning of premises to landlord should not be a rush activity as the most important thing is that unit should be returned in good manner.
