Have to plan the timeline correctly. Property count starts when OTP is exercised. You can buy HDB for stay. But if you're looking for better capital appreciation, then perhaps private will be more attractive. More capital though..

Hi,

1) You don't have to wait till your private property sold. You may start sourcing for your HDB flat now.
2) The 6 months timeline given to disposing of is from when you collect your keys for the resale HDB.
3) You may appeal to HDB for an extension if you are still unable to dispose of your private property after 6 months.
4) As long as you are able to provide evidence of exhausted all resources available in the market, and within the reasonable asking price.
