While it's true nobody can exactly pin point the bottom, one can look to signs from the markets and anticipate a moment.
Property is a "sentiment-driven" market, and if the market feels cheap and good, it will natural attract more buyers, and more buyers usually means the rate of decline as less. What we do know for sure is we are in recession, and whatever we buy now are at RECESSION PRICE, which is a very safe price.
I have dedicated attention on studying this and have personally developed a system that analyse the property markets from a technical perspective as well. Many of my buyers have benefit from these finding and allows them to choose the property at the right price of entry.
Remember, to win in this market, you have to preempt the market. Most people derive signs from what the newspaper report, but few know that news reports on property movement at actually 3mths behind what agents on the ground already know. If you wait for news to say it's time to buy, you are too late, and little will miss the bottom. If you can see the bottom from news, so can the sellers, and why should they sell you at the bottom price if they also know is the bottom and price will only go up.
