If there are valid reasons to extend this standard process period of 3 weeks, yes we need to seek URA approval. They may grant a validity period up to 12 weeks from the Option Date to exercise the S&P.

The Controller may extend the validity period of the OTP up to 12 weeks from the OTP date, however, you will need to write in to seek the formal permission. I would advise you to settle the sale first before committing on the new purchase so that you will not be under the pressure to find a buyer for your property.
