For first time home buyers who are buying a resale flat where the sellers would require a 3 months contra. Is there anything would the buyer need to be aware of and how does it work for the buyer?

Would this contra thing happen after the handover of keys or before the handover?

Hi, I believe you are referring to the 3 months extension to the seller. This 3 months extension will officially start on the day of the HDB completion itself.

Hi,

I do not understand your question. Contra party is the party doing selling and buying together, with HDB acting for the party. There is no 3 months contra, as the sale and purchase completion will be on the same day.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Hi

As the purpose of contra is to assist seller in managing their cash flow, this happens during the completion date itself. You are considered the legal owner of the flat after completion although the ex seller will continue to stay in the unit after the completion date. The seller will handover to you the key 3 months after completion. Do ensure to inspect the house and ensure it remains in it's original condition once you have gotten the key to your new flat. Do conatct me at 93375051  for a free and non obligatory discussions on this.
