Dear Mr Lee,

As resale ECs is considered private residential homes, there is no requirements for you to sell your existing residential properties, nevertheless, Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty will be applicable for this purchase if you do not have intention to dispose the existing residential property in Singapore or transfer the ownership out to your family.

Do also take note that should you require financing for this purchase, your age and income will also affect the loan eligibility, including the usage of CPF if you have already utilised CPF for your existing residential homes.

As a resale EC is not a "subsidized housing", there is no need for you to dispose off your existing properties.

However, if the property you're going to purchase is your second (or more) residential property in Singapore, you may incur Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD). The amount of ABSD involved would be dependent on the number of Singapore properties (with residential components) you currently own, as well as your Citizenship status.
