Asked by
Dear All,

I am an expatriate who is going to work in Singapore.
I would like to rent a 1350 S$ master room in a condominium. However, I would like to ask some questions because it is the first time I travel to Singapore:

- I have understood the difference between the Goodfaith Deposit and the Security Deposit. However, how do you recommend me to pay both ? By cash ? Cheque ? Visa?

- If I am renting a 1350 S$ condominium, who is going to pay the agent's fees ? The Landlord or me ? Could you give me an approximate amount, please ?

- In PropertyGuru, are the electricity, water, gas, condominium charges included in the rental price, please ? Or do I have to pay all of them separately ?

Thank you for all your answers
Best regards

You obviously don't have a bank account yet so paying hard cash is fine.

You obviously need an agent to serve you since its your 1st time in SG, so please pay 1 month equivalent commission to the agent.

Different landlords have different perks, some rent their units all in, some are without frills. Any agents will be able to advise you on the best option for you. So just choose anyone you like to be your servicing agent. Read More
