Dear All, i am a singaporean with a foreign spouse and i am looking to purchase a new HDB flat from HDB. i have read up on HDB's website which is a little confusing. I have read on alot of places that i am only allowed to purchase a resale hdb from the open market. but when i was reading on HDB's website on sales of balance flat > Eligibility it says that i am allow to purchase on the non citizen spouse scheme? can someone please confirm this information?

Evening Brian,

Sales of Balance flat is not considered as resale unit. HDB will market the balance unit, including those that have being taken back, with subsidized price, in the manner equal to BTO.
Resale market unit are those where you purchase from seller, instead of HDB. This is where non-citizen spouse scheme are applicable.
