1 key driver for many HDB sellers to sell their HDB is the balance number of years left in the tenure of HDB flat, where it is well known that the lesser the number of years left in the tenure, the more difficult it is to sell and value of the home tends to depreciate. When lease balance is down to 0, the property will be surrendered back to the state. Block 75 Whampoa Drive has currently about just above 52 years left in tenure, which is below the preferred threshold of 60 years that most HDB buyers prefer.
