Hi Maggie,

You are able to sell the property off immediately but this will not be advisable as you would have paid close to 3% in stamp duty when you purchase the property on top of the purchase price. By selling it immediately, you will be liable for the Seller Stamp Duty of 12%.

Altogether you will be paying about 15% worth of stamp duty. You may want to explore renting it out instead to generate some income to pay for the mortgage instead. Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your situation better and provide you with further assistance!

Yes you can do that. But take note of the Seller Stamp Duty (SSD) involved. Should you sell within the first year of purchase, you will be liable for 12% SSD.
