As mentioned by Vincent, you will need to go through a wait out period of 30 months after disposing of your private properties if you want to purchase any property direct from HDB, of course that includes EC.
If you buy from resale market, HDB or private, you will not be subjected to this wait out period.
Do note that if you are considering taking HDB housing grants to buy the resale HDB, you will then be subjected to the wait out period.
