can i buy a pte property after i take over joint ownership together with my father in a HDB flat which i stay in for more than 30 years, through transfer of ownership? If possible, I understand that there is mininum occupancy period requirement that one must fulfilled and when wld this MOP starts to count?

Hi!

Your MOP of five years start from the effective date of transfer and yes, you can't purchase another Pte residential property during this period.

Having said that, you can still invest in commercial and industrial properties where such rules ate not applicable.
