Can a foreigner (non-resident/non PR) purchase a home/condominium in Singapore? If possible, are there any restrictions to the type and or cost for purchase? Please do advice as I plan to invest +/- USD2Mill in a property

Hi Sir/Mdm,

You will be eligible to purchase a residential property in Singapore. However, you will be subjected to an Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD) of 15% of the purchase price as a foreigner. For a 2 mil property, the additional stamp duties will work out to about $300,000.

May I know what is your nationality? Citizens from some countries are exempted from these duties due to the Free Trade Agreement.

Alternatively, you may explore purchasing commercial or industrial properties which are not subjected to these additional stamp duties.

Hi, there is no restriction to the type or cost of Condo that you could purchased. Just that for a PR, the stamp duty payable will be at 8%. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any banker's contact or any other assistance.

Hi,

Foreigners are eligible most, if not all, condominium developments in Singapore. There are no restrictions on the amount of purchase. Typicaly foreigner profile is subject to total 18% stamp duties on the purchase price, but for certain nationalities this is exempt. May I know your plans and objectives? Good morning buyer,

Foreigners are eligible to purchase private condos/ apartments and landed in Sentosa.

You will be subject to additional buyer's stamp duty of 15% on top of estimated 3% buyer's stamp duty.

For a USD$2m or SGD $2.8m property, stamp duties will be around $498.6k.

But if you are a national or permanent resident of the following countries, you will be accorded the same stamp duty treatment as a Singaporean.

1) Nationals and Permanent Residents of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland
2) Nationals of the United States of America
