my 5 cents worth is that landed properties are certainly better for investment esp those freehold ones. It is so much better to own a piece of land in land scarce singapore.

However, for own stay, u may want to consider condos which provide good facilities and near amenities.

Landed properties usually do not have facilities and are away from the crowd usually. But you definately have the serenity and space whereelse Condo properties come with facilities and near mrt usually. In terms of rental investment and awaiting capital gain i believe condos do have a edge over landed properties in short terms of 1-5yrs.
