Are there any disadvantages buying a resale EC (after 5 yrs) compare to private properties? It seems to me that the price for 5 years and over EC cost about 600-900 psf whereas the latter cost 1000-1400 psf??

Dear sir/madam,

To begin with, ECs are launched at a lower price than a private condo, as it is somewhat a top tier public housing when launched, only to privatised sometime later. There is no advantages or disadvantages to speak about except the quality of the project. Having a lower launch price allows the sellers to resell it at a lower price too, meaning there will be a bigger pool of buyers available than a higher priced one. Hope this helps.
