Am I (SG citizen) still eligible for a HDB loan if my foreign husband legally owned a house in Australia for a very short while?
The situation is, his mother nominated him as a co-owner in order to obtain a loan to buy a house, but as soon as sale went through, his mother removed his name from the property so he is no longer a co-owner. However, his name was still technically on that house right when it was purchased.
We are looking to buy a resale flat with a HDB loan next year, so is that still possible (it would have been fewer than 30 months since he "owned" that property though)? According to the HDB website it isn't, but is there a way to appeal given that his name was only on the house just to obtain a loan and it was removed as soon as they got the house, and that he did not in any way benefit from the house (financially or otherwise)?
