After doing the OTP and getting the unit valuation, the seller's agent kept asking me for the value of the flat. I heard that it's not necessary to share, is there a reason why he is doing so and is it normal for a seller's agent to be so persistent in trying to find out?

Hi,

1) You are absolutely correct that you have the right not to share. This information is only available to the buyer and HDB officer who is in charge of the case. No one else will know whether the selling price is over or under valuation value.

2) Agent is asking mainly for 2 reasons:
(a) So as to let the seller knows whether there is a COV or sell under value.
(b) To have a better grasp of the valuation value of the surrounding.

3) It is quite normal to try hard to find out.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

Hi ShuYun

The valuation report is paid by the buyer - YOU!
There is absolutely no obligation to share.
