What is the official definition of shoebox apartments ? I noted in Mr Koh Boon Wan's blog that this should refer to units of less than 500 sq ft per posting in his blog on 24 Jun 2011. There have been numerous articles on shoebox and they range from below 500 sq ft to as much as below 700 sq ft per
Business Times article written by Mindy Tan "NUS small apartment sub-index dips in April" on 29 May 2012. BTW, NUS small apartment index defines small apartments as less than 506 sq ft. I think there should be a standardised definition, most preferably according to that indicated by MND minister to avoid confusion in the industry. BTW, if up to 700 sq ft considered shoebox, then there will be much more than 2500 units considered completed shoebox units up to 2012.
