Dear Alex,
There should be an indication of tenancy expiry date mentioned in the tenancy agreement. At the end of the tenancy, handing and taking over process by both landlords and tenants will take place to ensure that all things are in good order. Usually I will encourage the tenants to obtain a writing with signature from the landlord after handing over as document proof that apartment has been handed over in good shape.
