what is the commission for rental of residential property

There is no standard in terms of how much commission is applicable, but the usual charges are half a month rent for every 12 months lease or part thereof. For GST registered agencies, GST will be applicable on the amount.
For example, for monthly rental at $2,000, any lease duration below 12 months, the commission applicable is $1,000 + GST, and it will be $2,000 + GST commission for lease period between 12 to 24 months.
