Hi potential resale EC buyer,

there are two scenarios in this case. 1 is you must sell off your HDB. 2. Dont have to sell.

1 is you must sell off your HDB.

You have to sell off your HDB if you are purchasing a resale EC which is 5 years to almost 10 years. Because it has not been privatised yet thus it is still works like a resale HDB flat.

2. Dont have to sell.

You dont have to sell your HDB flat provided you are buying a resale EC that had turned 10 years old and had been privatised. So in this case, you can keep your HDB flat and purchase another property as well.

It all depends on which date you bought your HDB, and has you complete your MOP (Minimum Occupation Period)?

As long as you have completed your MOP, you can buy a resale EC without selling HDB.
