Hi,

You need to dispose both current hdb and condo eventually. The condo has to be sold off first, then a wait out period of 30 months before you can apply new BTO or new ETC. Typically most owners will not go through this approach as its not the most cost effective or ideal for retirement planning.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

If you have not taken a CPF housing grant before, then you will be eligible to purchase a new BTO flat or a new EC. However, as you are currently holding on to a private property, under the current rules and regulations you will need to observe the 30 months period after selling your resale EC before you will be eligible to apply.

Good morning Pbhathal,

Are you still holding on your resale EC right now?

Do bear in mind you will have to dispose off it first and observe a waiting period of 30 months before you can apply for a new EC or BTO.

You will have to pay resale levy if you had taken any housing grant in regards to the 4rm flat you purchased in the past.

Hi Pbhathal ,

If you're stilling holding onto both the resale HDB and the EC (which has since been privatized, you are not eligible to apply for a new BTO or EC at the current moment.

Should you wish to apply for a "subsidized" housing, you will be required to sell off your resale EC, and then wait out 30 months, before being able to apply for a brand new EC.

Do take note that upon the new EC purchase, you will also be liable for resale levy in CASH ($40k for 4RM flat) for your HDB if you had previously taken the CPF Housing Grant for your purchase.

Hence, my take is that this may not be the most feasible solution for your family's housing needs. Let's take this opportunity to discuss further in depth, and explore the available options to you in the current market.
