We need your advise coz we thought that this is no longer right given that we did not signed any contract. And our only agreement was 1-month notice. My friends and I are renting a master bedroom (4 pax in a room) in a 2-room HDB flat. On 08Aug14, we informed our main tenant that we are moving out by 1st week of Sep14. She agreed and even told us to return our deposit by end of Sep14. The next day, she changed her mind and told us that we need to consume our deposit for the month of Sep14. We agreed with her. But on the next day, she changed the policy again. She said we cannot leave unless we can find a replacement. We only agreed to help her to find a replacement but with regard to our deposit, we did not.
