We (couple + 7 month old baby) are looking for a rental property (2BR + maids quarters) that is conveniently located in the EAST. Requirement are: easy access by public transport / shuttle bus service connecting Siglap (infant care) and downtown (workplace). Beside that, usual convenience like shops, gyms, etc.

Most of the 3BR + 2WC Condo properties I am seeing are 3.5K+ which is quite expensive. Any advise:
1. What is fair expected rate for such property
2. If HDB, what is a preferred location
3. Any other relevant advise

Pricing of rent differs for the different projects in the east. For example, a 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms unit in Jln Tua Kong was rented out for $3000, while a 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom unit was rented out for $4000 at Seaside Residences.
