We are a PR/EP couple looking to invest of living or renting. We can spend around 160-180k. Maybe more in the coming months. Can we get a ready-to-move old condo in this range ? What options do I have if I wish to buy a private property asap.

Dear Midlet,

Greetings neighbour! I'm a resident agent at the landed estate near Nanhua Primary! :) May I assume that you intend to buy around the neighbourhood?

If you're looking for an old condo for own stay, there are a few 99-year leaseholds like Faber Crest going for $900-odd psf. The West Coast side also offer some popular condos like Blue Horizon and Botannia. I particularly like Botannia, it's just 3 years old with wonderful facilities, going for around $1,000plus psf. All these condos have shuttle bus services bringing you to Clementi MRT.

Sunset Way is another enclave you could consider, with Clementi Park etc, lovely neighbourhood to stroll around and a few good eateries hidden there, plus amenities like Cold Storage at Clementi Arcade.

For a discussion on resale versus new launch, check out my article here:-

I've also talked about freehold versus leasehold if you're deliberating between the two:-

Feel free to give me a buzz if you're keen to meet up around the area for a non-obligatory chat.
