We are a couple with 1 year old kid. My wife is a PR and I am a foreigner. We are planning to buy a 1 bedder condo arround 400-500 sq ft. Since we are first time buyers, Is it advicable to invest my money in this current scenario?
Please advise. How is the present resale and rent situation for this kinds of units?

Hi Karthick,

I would assume that you are currently renting a house to stay.

If all being equal, by giving your money to the landlord every month, and possibilities of landlord increasing the rent every year, which at the end of the day that property is not yours, Or by giving the rental to the bank, and the property is yours under your name. You own an asset. Which is better?

In future and when you think of upgrading to a bigger house, you will have the money by selling your 1-BR. There is no right time or wrong time to buy. So long as you can afford it and like the unit, just go ahead. We are living in a world with changes everyday, you won't be able to know when is the right moment.
